At the Kösler Arold OHG dairy farm in southern Germany, 400 dairy cows are producing an average of 12,500 litres of milk per cow. The ration consists of maize, grass, home-grown grain, soy and rapeseed, among other ingredients. All feed components are non-GMO.
For owner Alexander Kösler, a homogeneous ration and healthy cows are essential. As a dairy farmer and hoof trimmer, he has extensive knowledge of the relationship between nutrition, animal health and hoof health. After testing several feed mixers, the Solomix 3 with discharge unit at the front immediately made a strong impression: “After the very first mix, I could see that the Trioliet feed mixer mixed in a completely different way.” According to Alexander Kösler, the homogeneous mix results in a more consistent ration and good body condition in the cows. Hoof health is also excellent. “We have 400 cows and at the moment, not a single cow is lame.”

Reliable and flexible
Kösler Arold OHG deliberately chose a trailed Trioliet Solomix 3 feed mixer. In the event of a tractor malfunction, another tractor can easily be used, allowing feeding to continue.
Alexander Kösler is also very pleased with the Shifttronic 3-speed powershift transmission. The mixer can even be started without any problems with a heavy pre-mix and shifts smoothly during feeding.
With the TrioTronic weighing system, the operator has continuous insight into the weight during loading and feeding. Settings can easily be programmed via the display. The pre-mix dosing flap at the rear also fits well with the way the farm operates.
Working efficiently
During the practical tests, fuel consumption also stood out. According to Alexander Kösler, the Trioliet feed mixer used approximately 20 percent less fuel than the other machines tested.
For a farm with 400 dairy cows, this results in significant cost savings. Ultimately, it was the combination of mixing quality, animal health, reliability and efficiency that made the difference for Alex: “The mixing quality is excellent, the cows benefit from it and at the same time, the machine works reliably and efficiently. That is exactly what we need.”
